Something to look forward to on Mondays
My Thought Process Behind This
It’s Monday again, but just like last week, it’s not your average Monday, it’s January the 1st, the very first day of 2024. To me, the first day of the year represents hope and reminds me of the dreams I want to accomplish in life. We also have a little anniversary, it’s the 10th episode of PUM today. It’s a special day to me, and so is this episode. Let’s get you some music to start this year with!
Some time ago I found FORM which is an online community of creative people including musicians. This community stands behind a series of projects called All Nighter. During All Nighters musicians produce music in a 24-hour long session. The best tracks are then picked and put out on streaming platforms as an album. The proceeds from the project are then donated to a good cause.
I love the idea behind All Nighter (I am going to participate in the next one for sure.) and I also love most of the music. If nothing else, it’s new and genuine, which I always appreciate. “New Year, New Me,” they say, so why not try some new music as well? With that said, what I did for this episode of PUM, was this. I went through a bunch of All Nighter albums to find some new artists.
When I found somebody I liked I scanned through their music and picked something for this episode. I think I found some pretty interesting pieces for you. If I were to define the genre/style of it, I would say something like experimental lofi trap. Let me know how you would describe it! I hope you find something to start the new year with though.
