The Christmas anthems like “Last Christmas” by Wham! and other songs we all know are great songs, but hearing them every year over and over again, can make them sound just annoying. It probably sounds strange to hear from someone who literally writes blog series about “actually good” music. But, I truly don’t want to be the one saying: “Oh, that’s mainstream. So cringe. Blah blah blah” I think I have something for you I think you will like. I tried my best to make your 2022 Christmas sound like the most beautiful Christmas ever, but in a different way.
Kinda..
Let me explain…
If this is the first time you came to my website and you are like: “What the ____ is this about?” Let me explain it real quick. I am Nick (aka “Nickname Not Available”) and you probably have no idea who I am. It’s okay tho. I am the person behind this website and the YouTube channel. Besides the website, I do a bunch of things from DJing to modeling. But, the best way to put it is that I just like to make things. If you’ll stick around you’ll see.
“Good Music Flavor” is a music recommendations series of blog posts I started putting out recently. I want it to be something like a music filter for you. If you are always looking for something new to listen to, you know how long it can take to actually find something good. Good Music Flavor will make it easier for you. I will do the search for you, so you always have something to listen to and can focus on more important things.
If you like this idea consider subscribing with your email. I will then send you an email when the next post is out. You won’t have to search my website each time, you can just go to your inbox and within one click you will have music to listen to for the whole next week. And you will have the same option the week after that. But, enough talking around, let’s get to the actual post!
Without further ado, here is something to add to your 2022 Christmas playlist:
Before you scroll to the full tracklist, I would like to tell you how I found these songs and why I picked those ones in particular. Then there will be a clear list of all the songs so you can listen to them altogether.
If you expected me to present you with the same Christmas songs everyone knows, I will have to disappoint you a little bit. I want to present you with something a little bit different from what’s popular and what people are familiar with.
I truly dove in on this one. I wanted to offer you something unusual, yet enjoyable. Sometimes you try to make something “original,” but that need to make something new actually ruins the whole thing which was pretty good in the first place. I didn’t want this to happen. I didn’t want to make a playlist of maybe original, but strange music you would never actually listen to on Christmas.
There is a ton of interesting Christmas songs. Creating a playlist from them, one you will actually enjoy is a different story. I think I somewhat did it tho. Here is what I did. I searched for songs that sound Christmasy, but are not intended to. For example “come out and play” by Billie Eilish, “Home To You” by Sigrid, and “Lover” by Taylor Swift fall into this category.
I also searched for Christmas music made by artists you would never expect to make Christmas music. I never knew it, but surprisingly enough Snoop Dogg, Kaskade, and Lindsey Stirling even put out entire Christmas albums.
I hope that when you put this playlist on it will sound like Christmas, beautiful, but in a different way than the Christmas music you’ve listened to before.
A clear list of all the tracks:
- Tyler, The Creator – Whoville
- Pentatonix – Hallelujah
- Over the Rhine – Snowed In With You
- Carly Rae Jepsen – Store
- Taylor Swift – Snow On The Beach feat. Lana del Rey
- Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas
- Taylor Swift – Lover
- Harry Styles – As It Was
- Sigrid – Home To You
- Billie Eilish – come out and play
- Little Mix – Love Me Like You (Christmas Mix)
- John Legend, Stevie Wonder – What Christmas Means to Me
- Heart – Let’s Stay In
- Kaskade, Skylar Grey – O Come Emmanuel
- Snoop Dogg, J-Black – Xmas On Soul
- Sabrina Carpenter – A Nonsense Christmas
- Naked Eyes – Always Something There to Remind Me
- Björk – Bachelorette
- Lindsey Stirling – Somewhere In My Memory
- Alison Wonderland – Awake
Please, feel free to tell me your opinions & recommendations in the comments. You can also ask me basically anything. I try to respond to every single comment.
