My Thought Process Behind This

Hi, as you probably know Valentine’s Day is coming up this week, which means this PUM episode is going to be, well, romantic let’s say. Hope you’re having a nice Monday and the rest of the week. Anyway, let’s get our playlists ready for Valentine’s Day!

For me, Valentine’s Day will always be somehow connected to Pop Punk. That’s why I wanted to make this special episode in the genre I would describe as Indie EDM, which I feel is somehow close to Pop Punk. It’s probably what Pop Punk would look like if it went down a more electronic path. San Holo is a perfect example of this since he uses a guitar a lot in his production.

I hope you’ll enjoy this Valentine’s Day, whether you have that special someone or not. If you’re not in a relationship right now, hear me out, I am single as well and I don’t see any problem with that. I tried to make this episode enjoyable both for people in relationships and for people who are currently single. So whether you have that special someone or not, I hope you’ll enjoy this Valentine’s Day and nothing won’t stop you from having a great time.

Surprise huh (to turn the page), sneaked in a Lo-fi remix to the end. I’m sorry to those who don’t like Machine Gun Kelly, but I had to. His album Tickets To My Downfall is too special to me, not to include the song Bloody Valentine in this list. To give you some insight, for me, it was that album I needed in a rough period in my life, the Pop Punk style did it for me.

I would also like to point out the song Stay Forever by Whethan. I didn’t expect to find tunes that would surprise me like this. Resembling the legendary Daft Punk with its spacey feel I found it quite fitting for this special.
