Hi, how is your Monday going? I hope you’re having another fun day today. If that’s somehow not the case, I made this episode of PUM for you, because I don’t want you to be sad. This one’s going to be pretty turbo, so I hope it will get you in a better mood. This week is the week of Dariacore because nothing is as energetic as this unhinged subgenre of EDM, which is actually exactly what you need from time. Without further ado, prepare your ears, and let’s dive in!
I kept coming across the term Dariacore on the internet, so one day I decided to look it up. It was a perfect example of not knowing you needed something until you found it. I knew that Hyperpop combined with heavy EDM would be neat, but I couldn’t really find anything matching this idea. But that was only until I found out about Dariacore, which is related to both hyperpop and EDM subgenres like Dubstep and Future Bass. It is still not quite what I imagine it could be, but I think we’re getting there.
The selection in this episode is a showcase of the sound I would like to see more of being made. The exciting sound of bass-heavy EDM blended with the beautiful experimental chaos brought by Dariacore is guaranteed to give you a dopamine rush. Someone who stands out from this list is Syzy, they blend Dariacore with Dubstep and it’s f**king beautiful. “Medium Rare Milk” is probably the best example of the sound I was looking for.
Now a little digression lol, as I was learning more about Dariacore and how it started, I thought I might as well watch some of the series called “Daria” which this genre got its name from. So I started watching it and I quite frankly got obsessed. The type of humor is my thing.
