My Thought Process Behind This
Hi! I got a new episode of PUM for you. Let’s jump straight into it and make some noise. This one is going to be energetic and exaggerated but pop.
I found the Laura Les edit of Rich Bich Juice before, when I was going through her discography on Spotify. Laura Les (from 100gecs) has a unique production style, which makes her a must for any hyperpop playlist. Homeswitcher by Jane Remover brings even more of that experimental style.
If you’ve red the previous episodes, you know how much I love dubstep, trap and bass music in general. Knowing Torture Me by 100 gecs (which features Skrillex) got me thinking. It is an interesting fusion of hyperpop and bass. I loved that combination, so I started looking for similar sounding tracks. I ended up discovering artists Alice Gas and login.
I wrapped the list up with “I’m the First Lady of Juicy Couture” mashup. I just had to lol. If you aren’t familiar with it, it’s the song from the tube girl trend. Hearing this tune actually inspired me to make a hyperpop episode of PUM in the first place.
